NEWS and UPDATES:

31.8.2004: People are asking about the next version of the mod. Yes I'm working on it, although my other mods are taking most of my modding time and I lended my SoF2 to a friend, so it will take some time. And my guidance counselor is starting to dought if I'll ever make it out of High School. Hopefully I'll get something out in few weeks. Added a link to Zebra Gild web comic and to my other mods. 17.8.2004: Just letting people know that I'm still alive and kicking. SoF2 modding has been little in the background, since I've started 2 new projects: -Beyond the Call of Duty for Call of Duty -Mind-Killer for Doom 3 Both of them follow the Weapon Mods standards with some features that suit the games best. Both can be found on FileFront servers, d3.filefront.com and cod.filefront.com. 21.6.2004: Weapon Mod 5.0 finaly out. Git yers before the darn kids steal dem again. 18.6.2004: Got some updates for the site. New screenshots, weapon data, guide to make custom stuff work with the mod and the info page is active. Weapon Mod 5.0 should be out any day now. 26.5.2004: All of the grenades are online at WEAPONS. 24.5.2004: Mk. 23, MP5 and USAS-12 added to the WEAPONS list. 21.5.2004: Got some more WEAPONS online. 19.5.2004 part 2: Ok, got some older, but just as good screenshots to the screenshot list. They're not the best, but will work for now. After I get a new graphic card I'll get new screenshot. 19.5.2004: Weapon Mod 4.3 out now. Get it before the goverment forces me to shut down this maddness. Also some new weapons and ammo uploaded to the database. I was going to take some screenshots for the gallery, but I busted my GeForce 4, and got a used 5 euro Matrox Millenium to replace it, and just using windows seems to be too much for it, so the screenies have to wait. 13.4.2004: Hoowee! It's been a while, but I got some nise tricks from Call of Duty, since it uses a Q3 based engine like sof2. 4.3 will have some nice tricks, like brand new muzzle smoke and 3rd person muzzle flashes. Also muzzle flashes light up the surroundings, so it's realy easy to pick enemies in the dark. MP mod idea has been haulted for now. Meaby later. 13.02.2004: Site is redone. Not all the way, but most of the pages work. And don't forget the new Weapon Mod 4.2 out now. 04.01.2004: Some modifications to the page. Not much, but it's a start. More coming soon. 16.12.2003: Well well. It's been a while without an update. Don'n think that I've turned lazy, cuz I've always been. So v. 4.0 got out without any word on the page, and the v. 4.1 should be out as you read this. I'll update and upgrade the website during the holidays if my new computer parts get here in time. It's fun that everybody ordered the same prosessor as I did. Little update to the download page for now. 13.07.2003: Weapon Mod v. 3.0 ready for download. Lots of new stuff, so hurry, and get yours today. Max. load on all levels of difficulty, and the amount of ammo on pickups. More updates will follow. 03.05.2003: Small modifications to site. Weapon Mod 2.0 will be here in couple of weeks. Soldier of Fortune 2 - Weapon Mod is for single player only.
The Weapon Mod, is just as the name says; it's based around weapons. Players weapons, enemies weapons,emplaced weapons, you name it. The mod tries to keep a balance between realism and fun. Weapons are more like their original counterparts. Magazine sizes are more correct, damage, penetration and range is determined by the bullet, and so on.The mod also give new sounds, which have more "balls". No more small pops, a machinegun sounds like a machinegun. Not to mention the many new weapons the mod adds to the game.
May you have more fun playing this mod than I had making it.
