The
L2 is based on the US M61, which in turn
has been copied by South Africa with the
M26, the Portugese M312, and the Israeli
M26A2. All these grenades have a thin
sheet steel wall enclosing a notched
steel coil and explosive core. When the
grenade explodes it shatters the coil
into small fragments which travel at high
velocity and can cause casualties at up
to 15 metres. Color/markings:
